Culture, Culture, Culture
The American culture is a very diverse one. America is after all “The Land of Immigrants”. All the immigrants that have arrived in this country over the past 233 years have all brought part of their own culture. American culture varies around the country because of where those immigrants settled. For example In New York they have a Chinatown and Little Italy, the immigrants all lived by other immigrants from their own country, so if you were in Chinatown most of the stuff is written in…you guessed it, Chinese. It feels like a different country because the culture of their Chinese ancestry really shows. While Chinatown may feel like a different country you can walk just a few blocks you could be in a totally different area, such as Little Italy. This is because America is a melting pot of cultures, which makes America a very special country, unlike any other in the world. America is truly, the greatest country on Earth.
If I had to define my own culture I would define it as a very different culture compared to the average American family, but that’s what makes us, us. We eat at home a lot more often than normal. My mother cooks meals just about every day. We eat a lot of different foods from cultures around the world. We eat potatoes, pasta, various meats, pizza, and chicken. We only have fast food about once a month. My family is also centered on music, while most of us can’t play multiple instruments, I do, and I am always encouraged by my parents and brothers alike. My Immediate family is not very close to my distant family because they are spread all over the world and we barely ever see them, but we do talk on the phone about once every few weeks. So that is the culture of my family.
